Karen Rester's art comes from the world around her. Karen loves working in collage, acrylic, mixed media and weaving on her loom.

Karen Rester and Sharen Chatterton would like to announce the first two in a series of collaborative works, “Twin Mix”. As twins growing up together, we have always been the best of friends and as artists, we have always wanted to do something together. This inspired these works, appropriately called  “Twin Mix”. Each piece of artwork is comprised of four canvases, two by Karen, twin one,  in mixed media (acrylic and paper collage) and two by Sharen, twin two, in acrylic.

We begin by combining the canvases for the initial drawing, we then each work on two of the canvases.  These collaborations are so much fun for both of us. When all four canvases are completed, we bring them together, it is like putting the final piece in a puzzle. You now see the whole picture, its like a “You Complete Me” moment. All though each canvas will stand alone, only when the four are brought together is the story complete.
