New Art Work

Whats Weaving Now

Author: Karen (56 Articles)

Karen Rester's art comes from the world around her. Karen loves working in collage, acrylic, mixed media and weaving on her loom.

I have been working every chance I get on new art scarfs for my upcoming shows. I have to say, every time I finish one, it becomes my “favorite”! Color and texture are such a big part of why I love to weave and spin fiber. It is just too fun creating the color combinations and textures on each scarf. I love deciding on what yarn to lay in next and then taking it off the loom or finishing the braiding and seeing how everything comes together to create that piece of art.

Weaving on the Baby Wolf

I have two pieces going on my baby loom, a warp for scarfs and one for belts. I am working with two different ideas as to color so it never gets boring, weaving the same colors over and over!

Art Scarf "Coffee Bean"

Art Scarf "Cotton Field"

These are two of my Braided Art Scarfs made from my hand spun Art yarns.

Large floor loom

This is a warp for art scarfs on my bigger floor loom. The scarf is called “Not Quite Ripe”.
